It wasn’t long ago that Dan, an experienced IT guy, was tasked with organizing the installation of technology infrastructure for new warehouses being leased by his logistics employer. This was a huge challenge for Dan because these large warehouses were generally in industrial parts of cities far from his home base.
When a new project started, Dan was often tasked with finding contractors to assist with the installation of network wiring, structured cabling, VoIP installation, CCTV implementation, WiFi installation, security and much more. These projects took many months to complete, meaning Dan could not be onsite at all times, so he had to rely on local contractors to fulfill these needs.
The Irony Sinks In
Without having a contact base in each of the cities where a new warehouse was starting up, Dan had to look to the internet in order to find contractors to bid out these jobs. He turned to search engines to find reputable local businesses to help with his needs and without any references, he was left to judging the looks of a website to decide whether they were called.
This is where the challenges started. There were often few businesses in each city that, based off website alone, appeared trustworthy and professional enough take on this job. It was also obvious many businesses in these industries, and to their disadvantage, invested little in their online presence. Unfortunately, those same businesses that did have a professional looking website were very busy! This lead Dan to defer to the less-professional-looking websites to see if someone can bid his job.
The irony? These were technology businesses that had poor looking websites with almost no online presence, but ended up offering great service and were often excellent at getting jobs complete on time.
It didn’t take long for Dan, an entrepreneur at heart, to take his extended experience with IT and project management, and create a business to help technology and telecom contractors get their businesses found online. After all, they all wanted more business from the Internet, but didn’t know where to start.

Today, LongPeak Marketing is continually successful at helping technology & telecommunications businesses, along with businesses in many other industries, to create a professional online presence with their website and market their services to get the phone ringing more!
A majority of our new business comes from referrals from long-term clients. While we want to feel the quality of our services have a lot to do with this, we also believe that our business principles play into our success as well.
